Does it count if it’s in the morning but only while I absolutely need to get ready for work? Every morning, I find myself tidying up and doing small chores when I should have hopped in the shower 20 minutes ago.

FYI, a lot of times the gear in the first photo is for the plants’ sake, not the worker. Plant cultivation facilities can be like a house of cards, where one little bit of mold, fungus, etc can ruin an entire harvest. Depends on the plants in question, though
- Take out bank loan
- Buy Jeep Rubicon
- Ducks are automatically transferred to dashboard
- E4, mate in 6
Catapult vs trebuchet. The extra rotation point makes a world of difference.
Agree that the benefits dont quite outweigh the space issue though.
Hazmatastic@lemmy.worldto [moved to piefed] movies@lemm.ee•The original LILO & STITCH had a famous ad campaign where Stitch ruined different Disney classics. Director Chris Sanders explains the story behind them.English5·2 months agoI think they mean that back then, elaborate marketing campaigns (yes, for money) were a bit more commonplace, while today, the fun veneer over the greed has worn thin and most companies scrape by with the widest but shallowest marketing strategies that are even more transparent in their greed. We all know companies want our money, so any time we forget that momentarily is kind of like suspension of disbelief when watching a movie. The bar for the suspension of disbelief in corporate greed is simply getting lower. They realized they don’t need to try that hard to still make money hand over fist. Doing this again would be pretty expensive. You know what’s cheaper? Slapping some canned images and animations over existing logos and stuff.
It seems stupid to be annoyed by the fact that the ever-hungry jaws of capitalism “aren’t as fun as they used to be” but i think it’s getting upset over the fact that companies think they don’t even need to disguise their avarice to get away with it. And to a growing extent, they’re right. The showmanship being romanticized was meant to dazzle and distract the masses from the uglier parts of business, but now we just accept them instead. There is no shame in greed, no reason to hide malice when it’s an accepted tool of your trade.
Hazmatastic@lemmy.worldto What's this Plant?@mander.xyz•South Florida, in an old neighborhoodEnglish3·3 months agoLooks almost like a very large Crown of Thorns, but I doubt it. Hard to see if there are any thorns or not, but I’ve never seen them get a barrel trunk like that. If it is related, it’s some euphorbia, which can have a milky sap that can be toxic and irritating. They’re common enough though, just don’t let pets chew them. That said, I would wait for a more decisive identification
It’s not just a shitty place, as a corporation it actively fuels shitty practices that are felt across all social media and the internet in general. I’d rather take their users and build something better with them.
It doesn’t feel great when you want to make the switch just to find the analogous lemmy communities have 100-5000 members with the last post being 3 weeks ago as opposed to 100k+ with 10 posts in the last hour. The only way to fix that is with new users. Whether from the old site or not, new users is how these communities will grow and flourish. If you want to gatekeep, go ahead but I think you’ll only be slowing the adoption of the fediverse and letting the problems that incentivized its creation fester.
I hand out up votes like candy because engagement is how we’re going to get new users and kill the other site. I’d rather people karma farm here than by putting money in the pockets of the ultra-rich tbh
What… what do you think the blue part of blue cheese is?
