Honestly sounds great! Look forward to the results. I do think Linux compile times matters personally, and the time save on development because the compiler is doing checks as well isn’t a perfect one to one for this project, because people like myself compile the kernel way more than we dev for kernel. Adding and removing stuff to trim it down for various platforms.
During your compiling it would be interesting if you can find some rust flags that might disable checks to speed things up. Maybe there is a conf that skips the things downstream users can assume the actual devs ran?
Have you compared the compile times for equivalent kinds of drivers in the Linux kernel?
I think more progress around stuff like confidential compute, zero knowledge proofs, or homeographic encryption may provide a better avenue where we can see ways for software manipulation to be caught but without giving total ownership over to some random game.
Huh, so I’ve always disliked funkopoops but just because I didn’t like the mass production design and they were made in China with no evidence trying not to be made with slave labor.
Now I have a new reason
Honestly maybe something tied to librepay?
Brave browser’s ATs?
It’s not the US. Those aren’t Americans. He’s putting America first and above places like Taiwan.
China was SO scared of us though, knocking in their boots, that he was able negotiate THE BEST trade deal with China. Since ever. No other country has ever had as good as deal, and he negotiated out of old deals with Taiwan that were making us poor
Or some BS like that.
He can’t just be tough on China he has to “win”.
Idk the economy crashed during his presidency and people still believe it was Bidens fault and a return to unchecked mergers, dumping debt into the economy, and trade wars will help.
It’s not about reality it’s about the story.
Trump isn’t given enough ego bait from China to not rally against them to feed his base. If he can spin it as “the beat deal” he will do it.
Distrobox. Building weird projects is nicer when I can start from a fresh system each time.
Any open projects you could point to on the subject or articles about the government efforts? I would love to learn more on that!
I will say I worked one job where we had to submit network changes which was supposed to be checked by 5 different network engineers and then implemented.
Those 5 people would take a couple months just to fuck up my requests every gd time.
Yeah her comment that basically saying bullshit like this almost SOLEY to justify layoffs is pretty deprived is right on the money
I think you can point to a file instead too
I will say, the Le Chat provider is pretty decent. You really can use it more natural language. “Rewrite it with a better rhyme scheme” “remove the last line” and it just got it.
Why no local option though? Why no anonmysing option?
Edit: There is a right click option which does make this officially actually useful for me now (summarize this!).
Other models do have RAG options and Mist real supports making agents with specified documentation too to at least fine tune too (not as good as full grounding though IMHO)
I was disappointed there was no local option…
For real. Dude seems to think people can jack around and do nothing in office
Tbh sounds yet another “if we lived in another society this would be great” how much money is spent trying to measure, manage and control people doing the actual work?
Honestly though make an opensource version of this and run in it within the team, make the results public to the team and it’s a great tool to motivate coworkers and make sure they are working without needing a manager (as often at least) to assign KPIs and get status reports.
That’s where digital twin engineering HOPES to bridge the gap.
There is definitely a contium of how long it takes to build and test changes where increasly abstract design makes more and more sense vs the send it model
